Fountain Kilo Record Attempt Postponed

An attempt by Iconic Marine at breaking the v-bottom kilo speed record was postponed today. The 40-foot Fountain, powered by Sterling Performance engines, made two passes on the Pamlico River course near Washington, NC at about 150 mph but a crosswind was deemed too strong and unpredictable to make an attempt at the record.
An approaching weather front will linger for several days. A spokesperson for Iconic says the plan is to make another attempt on Wednesday.
The current APBA Unlimited Vee Bottom kilo record of 180.464 mph was set on the Pamlico River in 2014 by Brian Freehand in a 43-foot Outerlimits SV 43.
