Boot Düsseldorf, the 48th International Boat Show, will open Saturday and continue through Jan. 29 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Organizers said the event will reflect the international market with a broad range of boats, yachts and water sports equipment.
About 1,800 exhibitors from 60 countries will participate in boot 2017 in 2.3 million square feet. All 17 exhibition halls will be occupied, providing a complete overview of the world market for water sports.
“The exhibiting companies gear their exhibition budgets specifically to boot Düsseldorf in order to present themselves in their entire splendor,” show director Petros Michelidakis said in a statement. “Boot is the world’s largest boat and water sports show: Over 1,800 boats will be on display here in Düsseldorf.”
Organizers said more than 50 percent of the exhibitors come from European countries (especially from the Netherlands, Italy, France and Great Britain) and overseas.
Halls 5, 6 and 7a will feature the segments superyachts, tender boats for big yachts, superyacht building and furnishings for superyachts. Sixty superyachts as large as 98 feet will be at the show.
Organizers said more than 50,000 visitors are attracted to boot Dusseldorf by the accessories segment — from engines and technical supplies, equipment, instruments and power supply systems, whether classic gensets or solar energy systems, to efficient propellers. This makes Halls 10, 11 and 12 a popular destination at boot.
Organizers said more than 360 manufacturers of sailboats and yachts, multihull boats, catamarans, daysailers and dinghies also will present their products at boot Düsseldorf.
Halls 14 to 17 will be transformed into an enormous sailing center, turning the show into what organizers said is the most important platform worldwide for the presentation of all classes and kinds of sailing.
“Nothing will be left to be desired in our sailing halls,” Michelidakis said. “A very wide range of boats will be on show, and we will even be able to record further growth in the multihull and daysailer sectors. As a passionate sailor I am already looking forward to the active and exciting sailing atmosphere in the halls.”
Market leaders Jeanneau, Beneteau, Bavaria and Hanse will be represented again, highlighting interesting advances in their development operations. Other exhibitors will include Hallberg Rassy, Dufour, X Yachts, Oyster CNB and Swan.
