THIS TIDE CLOCK WORKS BEST ON THE EAST COAST. IT WILL WORK ON THE WEST COAST, BUT WILL NEED TO BE ADJUSTED REGULARLY.

We have taken a beautiful piece of solid paulownia wood (sustainable) and developed a new style of tide clock for the lover of fishing and or the beach! Each of our clocks is hand made and therefore, one of a kind. Each piece will vary somewhat in design due to the hand made process and wood variations.

Setting instructions will be included. Once set, the tide clock will display minimal error throughout the month – usually a discrepancy of less than 30 minutes, and therefore unnoticeable. Typically only 4 -5 days of each month can there be a difference as great as an hour. If an exact tide time is of the essence, or your safety is at risk, please do not rely on this clock.

Natural wood backdrop(12mm thick) with slate gray barracuda backdrop, white lettering and clock hand
Clock is approximately 12″ square and 1.5″ D
Clock requires a AA battery(battery NOT included)
Intended for indoor use.

*Please note that clocks will arrive with clock hand and cap detached (due to the fragility of the hand)… instructions on assembly will be included.

In the US, along the Atlantic Coast, there are normally two high and two low tides each lunar day, called a semidiurnal tide. This clock is set accordingly and will rotate every 12 hours and 25 minutes. In other areas (Pacific Coast, Gulf), tides are diurnal or mixed, so this tide clock will need regular adjusting / resetting in these locations.

Additional factors that influence day-to-day tide times and heights in your area are barometric pressure, onshore winds, shapes of bays and inlets, coastline configuration, and local water depth. These are simply designed to be used as an additional instrument to gauge your tides.
