Second 34-Meter Seen at Feadship

This 109’9” (33.5-meter), modern-looking cruiser is the second of three same-styled superyachts splashing from Feadship this year. In fact, she comes about a month after the first project hit the water.

That first yacht, referred to as Hull 692, is seen in the picture below. She’s behind the newly launched sistership. Though it’s hard to tell due to the weather the day the photo was taken, the yachts have different hull colors. The new megayacht is white, while Hull 692 is grey.

The new launch’s identity hadn’t been revealed by Feadship as of press time. She is, however, either Hull 691 or Hull 693. Last month, when Hull 692 splashed, the builder divulged that Hull 691 and Hull 693 sprang from her and would be launching soon.

The reason there are three same-size and same-styled megayachts is simple. A fully custom megayacht of 110 feet (and one built by Feadship) will cost more on the brokerage market than most other yachts of her length, due to them being semi-custom. The yard convinced Hull 692’s owner that it would make more economic sense to have at least two similar projects built. If he could help find buyers, construction could start. (On a related note, there are actually four similar projects in total. Two launch next year and are a bit bigger.)

Hull 691, Hull 692, and Hull 693 all bear naval architecture and styling by De Voogt Naval Architects. The abundance of glass characterizing their profiles is unusual. Feadship says it’s the most glass as a percentage of the overall profile for any megayacht it’s built. (Even Venus, whose looks they may remind you of, has a smaller proportion of glass.) Each yacht is all aluminum and has a 25’9” (7.9-meter) beam. The interiors of Hull 691, Hull 692, and Hull 693 are voluminous-feeling, too, given eight-foot (2.45-meter) ceiling heights. While each megayacht has a different interior configuration, Bannenberg & Rowell Design is responsible for both Hull 692 and this new launch. Details on decor features aren’t available.

What is available, at least upon delivery, is the world as a playground. Hull 691, Hull 692, and Hull 693 are each planning to peruse the coasts of different continents. They’re engineered for a 19-knot cruise speed and for accessing shallow waters. Draft is 5’9” (1.8 meters).
