This Gimbaled Desk Stand Compass is a solid brass reproduction of an antique sailing ship cabin compass. The compass is mounted on a 360-degree double gimbal ring system on a heavy brass base. The gimbal ring design allows the compass to remain level regardless of the angle of the base. The bottom of the base is covered with felt to protect your fine furniture. The brass compass rose is marked “Stanley London.” The compass measures 2 5/8 inches (6.7 cm) in diameter, and the overall compass is 3 5/8 inches (9.2 cm) in diameter, 6 1/8 inches (15.6 cm) tall, the base is 3 inches (7.6 cm) in diameter, and the compass weighs slightly over one pound (465 grams). This compass is beautifully detailed, and polished to a high luster.
