SureShade said it reached a company milestone, as it was available on 100 boats — as an option or standard feature — at the Miami International Boat Show and Yachts Miami Beach, which wrapped up Monday.
Among the 100 models featured in Miami, 12 new boats debuted with SureShade as an option.
“From one boat eight years ago to 100 boat models in 2017, this year’s Miami events mark a significant milestone for SureShade as we continue to expand our portfolio of factory models,” SureShade co-founder Dana Russikoff said in a statement.
“We’re proud that boatbuilders are choosing our American-made telescoping shades as an integral component for their boat lines to meet the growing consumer demand for improved sun protection on boats.”
New SureShade-equipped models included the Sea Ray 400 SLX; Boston Whaler 380 Outrage; Sea Ray L550; Scout 380 LXF; Cruisers 50 Cantius; Robalo R317; Chris-Craft Catalina 30; Calypso 30; Cobia 280 Dual Console; Intrepid 475 Panacea; Mako 414 CC; and the Belzona 325 CC.
Two boat brands featuring SureShade were honored as winners of Miami International Boat Show Innovation Awards.
Scout Boats won an innovation award in the deck equipment and hardware category for its patent-pending Articulating Rocket Launcher, a product that facilitates easier access to fishing rods, as well as the use of SureShade’s sunshade system in conjunction with its rocket launchers.
The Scout Articulating Rocket Launcher is used alongside SureShade’s ATF automated shade on the 420 LXF and new 380 LXF models.
Sea Ray leads the industry with 17 boat models offering SureShade sunshade systems.
Also noteworthy for SureShade in 2017 was Boston Whaler’s debut of its 380 Outrage equipped with SureShade; Whaler’s 370 Outrage model that debuted eight years ago was SureShade’s first factory-installed boat model.
